SMS template customization

SMS in your voice

Goldenhour’s stock SMS copy is friendly + neutral. Most artists get a measurable engagement lift from replacing it with copy in their own voice. Five templates + variable reference.

Best practices

Three rules before customizing

  • Keep it under 160 characters to stay in a single SMS segment. Each extra segment doubles your Twilio cost + can fragment on older phones. Customize for personality, not length.
  • Use the variables. Hard-coding “tomorrow at 4pm” will break when the appointment is at 5pm. Always use {time}, etc.
  • One emoji max, and only if it fits your brand. A sparkle ✨ or a sunset 🌅 reads warm; three emojis in a row reads as a marketing bot.

Where to set

Goldenhour’s SMS templates live in Settings → SMS templates. Each template has the variable reference inline + a length counter that turns yellow at 140 chars + red at 160 chars (single-segment cutoff).

Restore the default by clearing the field: the system falls back to the stock copy if your custom is empty.
